Fifty-six tree species were identified, photographed and mapped on the SMSU campus. The study was confined to an area bordered by John Q. Hammons Parkway on the west, National on the east, Madison on the north and Grand on the south. Over 400 trees were mapped.

How to navigate the virtual arboretum...
... by Species: the alphabetized links will show you where that species is found on this part of campus.
... by Centennial Trees: 100 Centennial Trees were designated out of over 400 trees to represent the tree species diversity on the SMSU campus. The 100 Centennial Trees have been commemorated with a species label and are identified on all maps.
... Interactive Maps: the 'Interactive Maps' menu link will take you to a Geographic Information System (GIS) based map that you can change interactively to produce and print personalized 'time snapshot' maps of the campus.

...just DO IT!: best yet you can explore the 'real' arboretum yourself by printing one of the 100 Centennial Trees maps and enjoying a walk through our beautiful SMSU campus.
