SMSU Campus from the Air

The SMSU campus and it's many changes has been captured through aerial photography from as early as 1936 to the present date. This is the archive of the photography that exists in the SMSU Map Library.

The below map shows a 2001 aerial photograph of the campus with the 100 Centennial Trees marked on the map.

You can see the other aerial photographs by moving your mouse over the thumbnails on the right or by clicking on the images.

The images are taken from different altitudes, to orient yourself look for the oval track, presently the SMSU Bears Football Field.

2003 near infrared aerial photograph (in near infrared photographs natural vegetation appears red, note the black color of the football field made out of artificial turf.
