Mapping the Past

Date/ time: Wednesday, November 17, 2004, 10 AM - 4 PM
Location: Temple Hall 307

This Centennial event, sponsored by the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, celebrates the SMSU anniversary by using geospatial technologies to map the campus during the last 100 years. A virtual arboretum has also been established and 100 Centennial Trees representing the species diversity on SMSU camps have been marked with plaques donated by the 2004 Graduating Class.

Demonstration of the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to locate the 100 trees will be given. Campus tour of the 100 Centennial Trees will also be conducted. Come and learn more about geospatial technologies, SMSU arboretum, explore the virtual campus map, and get your free map of the SMSU Centennial Trees.

Free SMSU Centennial Arboretum Tours!
Dr. Michelle Bowe will be conducting tours of the SMSU Centennial Arboretum on Nov. 17th, 2004, for more information see the event website.

Free Field Trip Guide to the Geology of SMSU Springfield Campus Tours!
Field trip tours will be leaving Temple Hall every hour from 10AM - 3PM on Nov. 17th, 2004. .
