Opposite, flat and needle-like (not in bundles)
Fruit Type:
Small roundish cone
Maximum Height:
120 feet

This deciduous species was first discovered as a fossil in 1941; seeds were brought to the United States in 1947. Trees can grow to 50 feet tall in just 20 years!
