Leaf Arrangement and Shape:
Alternate with simple, fan-shaped leaves
Fruit Type:
Very simple cone
Maximum Height:
65 feet

Ginkgo biloba is the only species in this family. An extract from Ginkgo is thought to have memory enhancing qualities. The leaves turn a bright yellow in the fall. Female fruit has a pungent smell when crushed. The fruit is edible
