Leaf Arrangement and Shape:
Opposite with simple, palmately lobed leaves (5 or more lobes, highly variable)
Fruit Type:
Double samara (winged fruit)
Maximum Height:
25 feet

This tree has been cultivated a lot to select for color, growth form, and leaf shape. The red to purple flowers are in drooping clusters. Leaves are generally dark green and will turn various shades in the fall.
