Leaf Arrangement and Shape:
Opposite with simple, 5 to 7-lobed leaves
Fruit Type:
Double samara (winged fruit)
Maximum Height:
80 feet

The sap is very milky. Leaves are a very pretty scarlet red to deep purple color in spring and summer but generally turn yellow in fall. It is one of the best maples to plant for its flowers because it will bloom in yellow clusters.
