| Sycamores
are easy to spot by their irregular bark pattern. The upper
trunk and limbs peel off the reddish-brown to show white bark.
Great blue herons are fond of the huge, irregular crown of the
Sycamore. Ninety-eight percent of their rockeries in Missouri
are in this tree. Butcher blocks and buttons are made from Sycamore,
because it is hard to split. |
