White Basswood (Tilia americana var. heterophylla)

Leaf Arrangement and Shape:
Alternate with simple, heart-shaped, non-lobed leaves
Fruit Type:
Drupe
Maximum Height:
60 feet

Very similar to the American Basswood, the main difference is the lower surface of the White Basswood is covered with white or light brown, woolly hair. Flowers are also yellow to whitish and fragrant. Landscape qualities are the same as American Basswood, as well as nectar quality and wood uses.
